Remedy's quarterly revenue tripled to EUR 39.6 million in the quarter Control Resonant launched
Remedy's business review for July to September 2026 shows revenue up 226.0% to EUR 39.6 million and a small operating profit after a EUR 16.4 million loss a year earlier. Control Resonant passed one million copies on October 15, with the United States close to half of all sales.

Finland's Remedy Entertainment published its third-quarter business review on November 3, 2026. Revenue for July through September was EUR 39.6 million, up 226.0% from EUR 12.2 million in the same period last year. Operating profit was EUR 0.6 million, against a EUR 16.4 million loss a year earlier[1]. One game, Control Resonant, released on September 24, accounts for the difference. This article reflects information as of November 4, 2026.
Most of the revenue came from game sales and royalties
Of the EUR 39.6 million, game sales and royalties were EUR 35.3 million, compared with EUR 6.0 million a year earlier. The review attributes the rise to Control Resonant's preorders and first seven days of sales, both of which fell inside the quarter. The remaining EUR 4.3 million was development fees, covering the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake with Rockstar Games and the final development fee accrual for Control Resonant under the agreement with Annapurna Pictures[1].
This is the first game of this scale that Remedy has published itself on its own IP, which means it also carries royalty expenses and platform fees directly. Royalty expenses are Annapurna's share of the game's revenue and will decrease once the initial investment is recouped, the review says. Marketing spend was the largest in the company's history and peaked in the third quarter[1]. That is why revenue tripled while operating profit stopped at EUR 0.6 million.
The United States close to half of sales, half of players new to the series
Control Resonant passed one million copies worldwide on October 15, the day of its physical release and three weeks after the digital launch, making it the fastest-selling game in Remedy's history[1].
The United States was the largest market on both PC and consoles, accounting for nearly half of all sales. On PC, Chinese-speaking regions and the United Kingdom came second and third; on consoles, the United Kingdom and Canada followed the United States, and Brazil reached the top three by console units. Analytics data showed close to 50% of players were new to Control, and outstanding wishlists stood at 2.4 million[1]. Sales of the original Control in the quarter exceeded both the comparison period and the first two quarters of this year[1].
The review covers units and revenue only. It does not break down sales by platform or give figures for individual countries beyond the rankings above.
The remaining three months decide the year
Remedy kept its 2026 outlook: full-year revenue and EBITDA are expected to rise from the previous year. The review states that sales over the remainder of the year will ultimately define the financial year. The stated priority is getting Control Resonant into more players' hands, with investment limited to actions with a clear return[1].
Three games are in development. Control Resonant is in post-launch development, the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake is in full production with Rockstar Games as publisher, and an unnamed new project is at the production readiness stage. Alan Wake 2's capitalized development costs were fully depreciated during the quarter, and FBC: Firebreak's sales now come mainly from subscription service agreements[1].
How to decide whether to buy now
Control Resonant costs KRW 64,800 on Steam in Korea with no discount running[2]. The GameSnapshots review covered the day-one hotfix that lowered enemy health and the fact that Korean support stops at subtitles, and rated the game 4.0[3]. A business review does not say whether a game is good, but it does say the developer has made this game's sales its top priority for the rest of the year. If an update or a discount arrives, the reason is in this document.
