Phantom Blade Zero tops 4 million sales in 72 hours, and Steam preorder refunds count from launch day
S-GAME announced the figure on its official X account on November 2. It gave no platform breakdown, but Steam recorded a daily peak of 833,921 concurrent players on November 1.

S-GAME's action game Phantom Blade Zero sold more than 4 million copies in its first 72 hours. The developer's official X account posted the figure at 11:02 a.m. Korea time on November 2[1]. The game launched in Korea on October 28 on PC (Steam) and PS5[2][3]. This article reflects information as of November 2, 2026.
What the 4 million figure does not tell you
The announcement is one line about sales plus a thank-you to players. It does not say how many copies sold on each platform or through each store[1]. So the number cannot tell you whether Steam or PS5 sold more, or how many copies sold in any one country.
On Steam, the game costs 69,800 won in Korea, and the store page shows a Metacritic score of 88[2].
Steam peaked at 833,921 players in a single day
Sales count people who bought the game, not people who are playing it right now. On Steam, concurrent player counts help fill that gap. Valve's most played chart lists a peak of 833,921 concurrent players for November 1[4]. When we queried the Steam Web API at 11:56 p.m. Korea time on November 2, 781,378 people were still in the game[5]. That is more than 90% of the previous day's peak, a day later.
It is also selling near the top of the charts. On the night of November 2, the game ranked 3rd on Steam's top sellers in Korea and 4th in the US. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 was 1st in both countries[6].
If you are on the fence, check the refund window first
Our GameSnapshots review praised combat that flows from blocking into weapon swaps. On the downside, boss health can feel excessive, and one review reported late-game frame drops even on PS5 Pro. We rated it 4.0[8].
If you buy on Steam, read the refund rules too. You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have played for less than 2 hours[7]. Two hours is not enough to test late-game performance. A more realistic test is whether the early fights, with their blocking and weapon swaps, feel right in your hands.
If you preordered before launch, the 14 days start on release day, not on the day you paid[7]. If you preordered and have not launched the game yet, try it before 14 days from release have passed.
