"Main Story Season 3 Chapter 3 drops on September 9" is the only date on Zenless Zone Zero 3.2 so far

HoYoverse gave September 9 to Version 3.2 "Their Secret Histories" in an August 29 post. Claret arrives as an Agent of a brand-new Specialty and Roxy comes with her, but as of September 3 the update announcement carrying banner windows and maintenance times has not been posted.

Zenless Zone Zero is a free-to-play action RPG from HoYoverse in which you play a Proxy, sending squads of Agents into anomalous spaces called Hollows and fighting them in real time. On August 29 the game’s official HoYoLAB account posted two lines: “Miracles never appear alone. They’re always accompanied by soaring birds and the bright dawn. Main Story Season 3 Chapter 3 drops on September 9”. That sentence is still the only date attached to Version 3.2, “Their Secret Histories”.

September 9 shows up twice

The same date was already sitting in an older notice. The Version 3.1 “The Long Goodbye” update announcement, posted to Steam on July 28, fixed the version’s length: 3.1 runs 42 days and ends at 06:00 (UTC+8) on September 9, 2026. One version closing and a new chapter opening on the same day means September 9 is also the day 3.2 starts.

As of September 3, 2026 that leaves six days, and the document you would expect by now is missing. No 3.2 update announcement, the one that carries banner windows, maintenance time and compensation, has gone up on Steam or HoYoLAB. For 3.1, that notice appeared on July 28, the day before the patch.

What grows this time is a Specialty, not an attribute

The intel round-up published after the August 28 special program named two Agents: Claret, described as “an Agent of the brand-new Specialty”, and Roxy.

A Specialty is the role an Agent fills in a squad. In 3.1, Sigrid was Attack and Remielle was Anomaly. Claret introduces a Specialty that is not on that list yet, and HoYoverse has not published its name. The anniversary patch added an attribute; this one adds a role.

Where the two come from sits in the August 24 Steam announcement. The mastermind behind the Bangboo manipulation, the game’s robot companions, is still at large, and Lady Dracaene, stripped of her Karma Core, has yet to recover from her injuries. Every clue points to Flint Workshop, standing tall in Vyrium. Claret directs it and Roxy assists her. The same notice set the special program for August 28 at 19:30 (UTC+8) and promised an exclusive redemption code during the livestream. That stream has been and gone, and how long the code stays valid was never stated.

Past the two Agents, the round-up lists new outfits, Agent Signal Search reruns, new story content and new event gameplay. The list stops there.

What closes at 06:00 on September 9

The deadlines attached to 3.1 all land in that hour.

Polychrome ×300 from the maintenance compensation is sitting in your in-game mail if you reached Inter-Knot Lv. 4, and it can be claimed until Version 3.1 ends.
Remielle’s and Sigrid’s outfits are on limited-time discount until 05:59 (UTC+8) on September 9 at Monochrome ×1,350 each. When the discount lapses the price reverts to Monochrome ×1,680, so the deadline is the hour the price rises rather than the hour the item disappears.
Main Story Season 3 Chapter 2 is permanent, so nothing forces you through it this week. It does require Chapter 1 to be cleared first; what Chapter 3 will require has not been posted.

A new account does not have to catch up in order. Once you finish the rank-up in Season 1 Chapter 1 Intermission, the Advance Screening function opens Season 3 content early. A comment event built around the two, #ClaretsForgingTrial, is also running, with a deadline of September 12 at 23:59 (UTC+8) and figurines for 60 randomly drawn entrants.

The open question is the running order. The official post says only that Claret and Roxy both arrive in 3.2, not whether their banners split into two halves the way 3.1’s did. That is the line to read first when the update notice finally goes up.
