The LIMIT ZERO BREAKERS Frontier Test runs September 10 to 14, and applications close four days before it opens

NC announced a second closed test for LIMIT ZERO BREAKERS on August 20. Sign-ups close at 11:00 KST on September 6 and the test runs five days from September 10. The Steam notice dates the same window in Pacific time as September 9 to 13. Three story chapters and a new raid are in the build.

LIMIT ZERO BREAKERS is an anime action RPG published by NC and developed by VIC GAME STUDIOS. The NC press release describes it by its presentation, which it compares to watching an animated series, along with a story line and fast combat. None of that is on sale yet. As of September 3, 2026 the Steam listing still prints Coming soon where a release date belongs, and no notice anywhere carries a launch schedule [1][3].

One route into the game exists right now. NC issued a press release on August 20 announcing sign-ups for what it calls the Frontier Test. Applications close at 11:00 KST on September 6, and the test runs from September 10 to September 14, five days. Sign-ups are taken through the official Discord and through Steam [1]. Counting from the September 3 reference date of this article, three days remain.

Two notices, two sets of dates, one test

The developer notice posted on Steam dates the same schedule in Pacific Daylight Time. Sign-ups run from 7:00 PM on August 19 to 7:00 PM on September 5, and the test from 7:00 PM on September 9 to 7:00 PM on September 13, five days [2].

The two do not contradict each other. Seven in the evening PDT on September 5 is 02:00 UTC on September 6, which is 11:00 KST on September 6. The same conversion turns the 7:00 PM start on September 9 into 11:00 KST on September 10, matching the press release exactly [1][2]. The dates look a day apart because the notices count from different time zones.

For readers outside Korea, the fixed points are 02:00 UTC on September 6 for the deadline and 02:00 UTC on September 10 for the server opening.

Three story chapters that June never showed

NC lists four additions in this build: three main story chapters, a spin-off story, a new raid, and new characters [1]. The Prologue Test that ran from June 11 to June 15 deleted every character record, all progress and all currency when it ended [4], so the new content sits behind a run through ground that testers have already covered once.

The revisions are grouped into three headings: the combat system, the art quality of characters and backgrounds, and the convenience of the UX and UI. NC attributes them to feedback gathered during the Prologue Test [1]. Neither the press release nor the Steam notice says what changed inside any of the three.

An application cannot be edited once it is sent

The route depends on the device. On desktop, the Steam page loads and the request access button completes the application. On a phone, there is no store listing to use, so applicants submit a Google form instead. The notice states plainly that a submitted application cannot be edited afterward, and asks people to check their entries before sending [2].

Selection notices arrive by different channels as well. Mobile applicants are contacted at the email address on the form, while Steam applicants receive a Steam notification when the test begins, which is why the notice suggests checking Steam notification settings in advance [2].

Anyone who wants both platforms has to apply twice, because download access is granted only for the platform applied for. Game data is tied to the game login account rather than the store account, so a single account carries across devices once access exists [2]. Participant numbers are capped, and transferring, selling or trading test access is prohibited, with access revoked where it is found [2].

A GTX 1060 on desktop, a Galaxy S24 Ultra on a phone

The PC minimum is Windows 10 with an Intel Core i3 (9th generation) or AMD Ryzen 3 (3rd generation), 16GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 750 Ti or GTX 960 4GB. The recommended tier is Windows 11 with an Intel Core i5 (9th generation) or AMD Ryzen 5 (3rd generation), 16GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1060, Radeon RX 570 or Intel ARC A380. Storage is 20GB of free space at both tiers [2].

On phones, the Android row is the one to read twice. iOS asks for iOS 15, 6GB of RAM and an iPhone 12 Pro at minimum, rising to iOS 18.5, 8GB and an iPhone 16 as recommended. Android lists 12GB of RAM at both the minimum and the recommended tier, with a Galaxy S20 as the minimum handset and a Galaxy S24 Ultra as the recommended one [2]. The notice adds that the table reflects the test build, that optimisation continues, and that any change will be announced alongside the pre-download instructions [2].

The servers come down and the accounts go with them

When the test ends, the servers shut down and every account and every piece of gameplay data created during the test period is deleted [2]. June worked the same way [4]. Five days of progress carry over to nothing, and access granted for this test does not extend to any future test [2].

Spending is settled in a single line. In-game purchases are not available during the Frontier Test [2].

The build is not a finished product either. The notice describes a work-in-progress version containing temporary content made for the test, warns that story, text and images may differ from the final release and do not represent its quality, and says some content ships without voice acting. Text is available in Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese; voice acting covers Korean, English and Japanese [2].

Until 11:00 KST on September 6 there is exactly one thing to do: press request access on the Steam page, or submit the mobile form. After that the next document worth watching is the pre-download announcement, which the notice promises only for some point after sign-ups close, with no date attached [2]. The launch schedule remains where the June closure notice left it, to be announced separately [4].
