How much of the September 3 State of Play can you actually play this month?

State of Play started at 6 a.m. Pacific on September 3, and State of Play Japan followed the moment it ended. The first show covered PlayStation Studios and third-party partners and closed on an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation; the second, hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji, went through games from Japanese and Asian studios [3]. Between them, more than 30 titles went past. Move that list onto a calendar and most of it belongs to next year or later. As of September 3, 2026, this is what falls inside the next four weeks [1].

Six lines for the September calendar

Keeper came out on PS5 the same day it was shown. It is a third-person puzzle adventure from Double Fine Productions, described in the announcement post as beautiful, surreal and carried by atmosphere. It is the only new game on the list you can buy from the PlayStation Store right now.

Final Fantasy Resonance, Square Enix’s HD-2D action game, arrives properly on October 22. Pre-orders opened during the show, and with them the entire first chapter went up on the PlayStation Store the same day. If you would rather try before committing, that is a task for this month.

Marvel’s Wolverine launches globally on September 15. Insomniac Games made it, and the announcement post frames it as just under two weeks away.

The live-action Resident Evil film reaches cinemas on September 18. It is based on Capcom’s horror series, directed by Zach Cregger, and follows a medical courier named Bryan.

Rematch, Sloclap’s football game, gets its Blue Lock collaboration on September 24 on PS5. Blue Lock is a football manga.

PlayStation Plus Premium Classics adds Mega Man X: Command Mission in September. Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank join the same list before the year is out.

Two entries that look new and are not

Read the roundup straight through and every line reads as a first reveal. Two of them are not.

The September 15 date for Marvel’s Wolverine did not come from this broadcast. Insomniac posted a six-second video to its social accounts on February 24, 2026 that already carried it [2]. What the show added was proximity, not information.

November 19 for Grand Theft Auto VI works the same way. The trailer was new; the date came from Rockstar’s earlier notice. The announcement post says only that the game launches on PS5 on November 19.

October 1 through December 3

Two things share October 1. Ghost of Yōtei picks up Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara, and neither is a separate paid drop: both ship as part of the game’s Complete Edition, from Sucker Punch Productions. The LEGO PlayStation set lands the same day, 1,911 pieces and 26 cm wide once assembled, close to a one-to-one match with the console.

Crimson Desert follows with Charting the Unknown, an expansion arriving on the PlayStation Store on October 15 from Pearl Abyss. Then Stupid Never Dies on October 21, Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22, and Hunter’s Moon from Twin Swans on October 25.

Gran Turismo 7 splits its Spec IV update in two. Two circuits, 12 cars and new modes are divided between an October release and a December one, from Polyphony Digital.

November brings Where the Seeds Fall from Cygames on the 5th and Grand Theft Auto VI on the 19th, with DualSense controllers on the same date. December 3 has Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World on PS5.

Some items carry only a year. Mycopunk, a co-op looter shooter for one to four players, launches into the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog later this year. The Saros Zenith update also arrives this year, at no added cost to people who already own Saros. Genesis Maidens, a DLC for the Sword Art Online title Echoes of Aincrad, is set for winter 2026.

The list that crosses into 2027

January 28 holds two: Until Dawn 2, Firesprite’s horror game, on PS5, and Fate/Extra Record on PS5 and PS4. Metro 2039 from 4A Games follows on February 4, Gundam Rogue Orbit on March 5, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation on April 8. That last date is the largest single piece of news in the broadcast, since it closes out the remake trilogy.

Spring 2027 covers Daba: Land of Water Scar from Dark Star Games and SlashZero. Dated to 2027 without a month: Maneater 2 from Tripwire Interactive, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, A Hero’s Eternal Legacy for Digimon Story Time Stranger, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance from Capcom, Rev. Noir from Konami, The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes, and Uncanyon from Graceful Decay. World Phasebound Control Authority runs out to 2028.

What to settle today, and what nobody answered

Two decisions fit inside today: whether to buy Keeper, and whether the first chapter of Final Fantasy Resonance now on the PlayStation Store is worth a pre-order for October 22. The next deadline after that is September 15 for Marvel’s Wolverine. Whether the Rematch collaboration on September 24 runs for a limited window or stays permanently is not stated in the post.

Several questions stayed open. The post confirms the two Ghost of Yōtei additions ship as part of the Complete Edition, but not on what terms existing owners of the base game receive them. The price of the LEGO PlayStation set is likewise absent. Konami’s Rhapsody in Scarlet and CONQ: Crown of No Quarter appeared with trailers and no date at all. For those three, the next announcement is the one to watch.
