From 20:00 to midnight KST on September 22, names from one to eight Korean characters can be reserved for Dokkebi-ui Segye. From 11:00 tomorrow, the minimum becomes two characters. The game separates cosmetic outfits and mounts from progression stats, and builds its 2.5D world from a Korean web novel and webtoon [1][2]. This article reflects information as of 22 September 2026.

Single-character names are open for the first four hours only

Kakao Games publishes Dokkebi-ui Segye, a 2.5D MMORPG developed by SuperCat. On the first day of reservations, names of one to eight characters can be registered from 20:00 to midnight KST, and that includes single-character names such as 해 (sun), 달 (moon) and 별 (star). From 11:00 KST on 23 September, only names of two to eight characters are accepted [1][2][3]. The published material does not say when reservations close.

The economy shown at the 18 September livestream

The live demonstration on 18 September was hosted by caster Lena. SuperCat producer Park Sung-jun, director Jang Su-min and Kakao Games business head Cha Myung-soo played the game on stream and answered questions sent in beforehand and asked live [1].

Players earn the in-game currency, geumjeon, from field bosses, raids and guild (munpa) content, and spend it on progression items, cosmetic outfits and mounts [1][2]. Outfits and mounts carry no progression stats, which keeps growth and cosmetics apart [1][3].

Built on the Naver web novel and webtoon Myeolgwi Sudojeon

According to Kakao Games, the game is being developed from the popular Naver web novel and webtoon Myeolgwi Sudojeon (멸귀수도전). It combines 2D pixel-art characters with 3D backgrounds, its pixel art draws on traditional Korean sensibilities, and it was made in collaboration with Redice Studio, the studio behind Solo Leveling [1].

Launch target: 8 October

In a 1 September release announcing an online showcase for 8 September, Kakao Games said the game would launch in October [4]. The current target is an official launch at 11:00 KST on 8 October, with development and service preparation continuing until then [1][2]. Single-character names can be reserved until midnight KST on 22 September.
