Noon on September 21 is the last minute to verify an email for the Astrae Oratio closed beta
NCSOFT said on August 21 that Astrae Oratio, its unreleased subculture RPG, takes a dedicated booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026, held September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe. Signups for the closed beta shut at noon on September 21. Neither the booth programme nor the test dates have been announced.

Noon on Monday, September 21 is when signups for the Astrae Oratio closed beta close. NCSOFT opened the recruitment page on the game’s official site at noon on August 19 and set the window to run from that day until noon on September 21 [2][4]. As of September 3, 2026 that leaves eighteen days. Four days before the deadline, on September 17, the game gets a booth of its own at Makuhari Messe [1].
A junior civil servant, reassigned to the wizard desk
Astrae Oratio is a mobile collection RPG developed by Dynamis One and published by NCSOFT. The official site files it under shindenki magic RPG, and the story starts with a junior local-government official being posted to the bureau that administers the wizards living unrecognised in Tokyo, a body the site names in full as the Administration for Designated Special Districts of the Hidden Order and shortens to the Special District Office [4].
NCSOFT announced on August 21 that the game will take a dedicated booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026. That is as far as the release goes on the booth itself; it adds only that the operating format and the detailed programme will be published later on a dedicated page [1]. Tokyo Game Show is the largest games exhibition in Japan and reaches its 30th anniversary this year. It runs from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture [1][5].
Two days at Comiket, two sellouts
What makes the booth announcement worth reading now happened the weekend before it. The 108th Comic Market ran on August 15 and 16 at Tokyo Big Sight, and NCSOFT set up a stand dressed in the game’s key visual. It was the first time the game met its players offline [3].
The stand sold a teaser artbook, mini acrylic blocks, two kinds of half-cut sticker, two kinds of character can badge, and a Complete Set holding all of it. The teaser artbook and the Complete Set sold out on both days [3].
A game with no release date and no store listing cleared its stock on merchandise alone. The Tokyo Game Show announcement followed three days later [1][3].
One verified email, and a floor of 16
Applications go through a single page inside the official site. Anyone selected plays the test on mobile later, and the platforms named in the release are Android and iOS [2]. The form asks applicants to pick whether they want the build through the App Store or Google Play [4].
The recruitment settings sit in the official site itself. The service region is set to global, and the supported languages are Korean, Japanese, English and Traditional Chinese. Entry runs on email verification, so the address has to be one that can receive the verification message, and disposable addresses are blocked. Age is handled by a consent checkbox with a minimum of 16. Reusing the same address from a different country is not permitted [4].
The deadline carries no time zone. The press release says only noon, and the time zone field in the site’s recruitment settings is empty [2][4]. Anyone applying from outside Korea or Japan has to decide which clock to work from, which is an argument for filing early rather than on the last day.
The booth is still a blank page
The material NCSOFT published alongside the recruitment notice was a new visual of Hiwagishiakari Ai, one of the game’s principal characters. She heads the Special District Office and is the protagonist’s direct superior, voiced by Haruka Shiraishi [2][4]. The release says the test will show the setting and the core content, and that player feedback will feed back into development [2].
The test dates themselves are to be announced [2]. Filing the form does not tell you when the test happens.
The booth side is equally empty. The dedicated page the press release promised has not appeared on the official site, and no booth number has been published [1][4]. Whether a playable build will be on the floor, or only trailers and merchandise, is not stated anywhere.
That reduces the work before noon on September 21 to two steps: finish the email verification on the recruitment page, and choose whether the App Store or Google Play account is the one that receives the build. Whether anyone gets to touch a screen at Makuhari is settled four days earlier, on September 17.
