A level cap of 70 comes free in Borderlands 4 Version 1.10, while Loveless the Hacker is paid DLC

Borderlands 4’s level cap is now 70. Version 1.10, which Gearbox Software and 2K released on September 10, raises it by ten levels for every player, and the update is free [1][3]. A new Vault Hunter (a playable character), Loveless the Hacker, came out the same day along with Story Pack 2. Both are paid DLC [3].

Borderlands 4 is a looter shooter that launched on Steam on September 11, 2025, and its store page sells it on a huge arsenal, deadly enemies and co-op action [4]. For the game’s first anniversary, Steam is running a Free Play Weekend and a sale at the same time [2]. Times below are Pacific, and prices come from the US Steam store as of September 13, 2026.

Characters built on the free weekend carry over when you buy

The Steam Free Play Weekend began at 10 a.m. PT on September 10 and ends at 10 a.m. PT on September 14. Every enemy and boss fight in the base game is open, and free modes added after launch are included. If you team up with a friend who owns a DLC Vault Hunter, that friend can still play as the DLC character, but the party is limited to base-game missions [2].

Buy any edition on the same platform after the weekend ends and your progress and loot stay. Achievements carry over too [2].

The sale runs until 10 a.m. PT on September 24. On the US store the base game is 50% off, down from $69.99 to $34.99, with the Deluxe Edition down from $99.99 to $49.99 and the Super Deluxe Edition from $129.99 to $64.99 [2][4]. Loveless the Hacker, Story Pack 2 and Bounty Pack 5, all released on September 10, are selling at full price [5].

Borderlands 4 stood 85th on Valve’s most-played games list when it was queried at 22:12 UTC on September 13. Its last-week rank reads -1, meaning it was outside the top 100 the week before, and the peak concurrent player count on the same row is 27,896 [6].

What every player gets in Version 1.10

Ten more levels also mean more skill points, which the developer says open up more build options [3].

The base-game Vault Hunters were retuned as well. Every class received buffs and balance adjustments, and Rafa the Exo-Soldier’s APOPHIS Lance got a large damage increase [3].

Loveless and the island of Providence cost extra

Loveless is a former Anshin hacker turned assassin. She deals Corrosive and Radiation damage with a cybernetic arsenal, and a digital virus she created takes physical form as a Wyrm that fights beside her. She costs $9.99 on the US store [1][5].

Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort ($19.99) adds a new zone, the island of Providence. It has eight story bosses, one of them a new major boss, plus 13 minibosses, and they can drop two new Pearlescent weapons, 18 new pieces of Legendary gear and six new Legendary Class Mods [1][5]. Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows ($5.99) brings new story content, gear and the Vile Test Chamber, a repeatable boss rush activity [3][5].

The Super Deluxe Edition includes Story Packs 1 and 2 and Bounty Packs 2 through 5. The Deluxe Edition includes the Bounty Pack Bundle, which covers Bounty Packs 2 through 5 [3].

Providence is recommended for level 13 and up. To get there you first need to complete the “A Lot to Process” mission in the Fadefields. If you would rather skip that, you can roll a new Vault Hunter who starts directly in the Story Pack 2 content at level 13 [1].
