STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, the racing game developed by Fuse Games, launches worldwide on October 6[1]. It is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store[2][3]. On the Korean Steam store, the standard edition costs KRW 64,500 and the Deluxe Edition costs KRW 86,000, with interface text and subtitles available in Korean. Audio is available only in English[4]. This article is based on information checked on the official website and Steam store as of October 5, 2026.
An underground league in the Outer Rim after the Empire's fall
The story begins after the Empire has fallen, as the New Republic works to rebuild. In the lawless Outer Rim, an unsanctioned racing circuit called the Galactic League has emerged, with organizations sponsoring pilots. Players enter the league as Shade, a lone racer pursuing revenge and glory[4].
Vehicles include landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders and podracers. Each type has its own physics and playstyle, and players can build a vehicle to suit their style[4]. The Steam store describes the game as 'run-based' racing. The greater the risks taken in a race, the greater the rewards. There is a single-player story campaign alongside online PvP competition where players build their reputation. Online play supports cross-platform multiplayer[4].
The developers behind Burnout
Interviews on the official website detail the developers' backgrounds. Co-founder and CEO Matt Webster said he spent 32 years at Electronic Arts, where he worked on the Burnout series[5]. Game director Bill Lane handled game design for Burnout Paradise, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Need for Speed: Most Wanted at Criterion[6]. The company was founded in 2023, and this is its first game, conceived with Lucasfilm Games[1][5]. The new skim speeder was also created with Lucasfilm Games[6].
Deluxe Edition and PC requirements
The Deluxe Edition includes three limited-edition vehicles, a special livery, three arcade events, a Deluxe player banner and a digital art book. Preorder bonuses are a livery and a multiplayer banner[2][4]. The game is rated 15+ in South Korea[4].
Steam lists the minimum requirements as Windows 10, a Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 12GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2060, Intel Arc A580 or Radeon RX 5600 XT (6GB). An SSD with 50GB of storage space is also required[4]. Steam lists the Deluxe Upgrade as a separate product, allowing players to start with the standard edition and upgrade to the Deluxe content later. No upgrade price was displayed as of October 5[7].
