The $649.99 Battle Yellow PS5 bundle goes on sale September 15, the day Marvel's Wolverine ships

A console has been repainted to match a game. On August 11, 2026, Sony’s PlayStation.Blog published the first look at a limited edition PS5 bundle and a set of accessories built around Marvel’s Wolverine [1]. The game is an action title from Insomniac Games starring the X-Men character Logan, whose skeleton and claws are laced with a metal called adamantium. It arrives on September 15, 2026, and the official game page states that it runs on PS5 consoles only [2].

As of September 3, 2026 that leaves twelve days. Pre-orders opened back on August 19 at 10 AM local time, and the hardware goes on sale on the game’s release day, September 15, in limited quantities [1].

Three items in the box, and no disc drive

The full name is the PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle, and it holds three things: a PS5 Digital Edition console in the Battle Yellow finish, a DualSense wireless controller in the same finish, and a game code for Marvel’s Wolverine [1]. The price is $649.99, £569.99, €649.99 or ¥96,980.

Digital Edition is not decoration in that name. The model ships without a disc drive, so physical discs will not go into it and every game has to be downloaded, which is also why the game comes as a code rather than on a disc. The yellow is drawn from Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit and claws, as the post explains [1].

What the colour costs on its own

For anyone who already owns a PS5, the pieces are sold separately.

The DualSense wireless controller comes in two designs. Battle Yellow is $84.99, £74.99, €84.99 or ¥12,480. Adamantium carries the same $84.99, £74.99 and €84.99, but the post lists no yen price for it [1]. Adamantium is the metal bonded to Logan’s skeleton and claws in the comics, and the design finishes the controller to look the part.

Console covers are $74.99, £64.99, €74.99 or ¥9,980. The Battle Yellow covers for PS5 come in versions for the model with a disc drive and the model without, while PS5 Pro gets covers in both Battle Yellow and Adamantium. The Adamantium cover for PS5 Pro is the other item with no yen price attached [1].

Eleven countries order straight from Sony

Orders placed with Sony at direct.playstation.com are accepted in the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Austria. Everywhere else, the bundle and the accessories arrive through select retailers in limited quantities [1]. Eligible pre-orders placed directly with PlayStation get free delivery on launch day [1].

Nothing has moved since. As of September 3, 2026 the official game page still shows September 15, and no revised pricing for the bundle has been published [2]. One line stays on the calendar: September 15, when the limited stock goes on sale.

Three things remain unstated. Which retailers outside those eleven countries will carry it, what it costs in the currencies the post skips, and whether Sony plans to restock once the first run sells through.
