Three days after its first anniversary, Battlefield 6 joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass only

Battlefield 6 joins Xbox Game Pass on October 13. Xbox announced the date in its first October lineup, published on Xbox Wire on October 7[1]. The game launched on October 10, 2025, so it will become available through a subscription three days after its first anniversary[2]. This article is current as of October 10, 2026.

One lineup, different subscription plans

Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's subscription service, offering access to a catalog of games for a monthly fee. It has several plans, and each game is available on specific ones. Battlefield 6 is joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass only[1]. The same post lists some other games as also coming to Game Pass Premium, but that plan does not appear in the Battlefield 6 entry. Premium subscribers may therefore find that the game is missing from their catalog even when October 13 arrives.

The supported platforms are cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC[1]. Cloud gaming lets you play without downloading the game: it runs on a server, which streams the gameplay to your device. Xbox Wire also outlined benefits from EA's subscription service, EA Play. EA Play members can unlock the EA Play Deployment Pack in Battlefield 6, receive the Season 5 EA Play Pack and get rewards each season. Game Pass Ultimate includes EA Play, and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers get 10% off EA digital products[1].

An 80,000 won game on Steam in Korea

Battlefield 6 is a military shooter developed by Battlefield Studios and published by Electronic Arts. It costs 80,000 won on the Korean Steam store and supports single-player, multiplayer and cross-platform multiplayer. The store also lists in-game purchases[2]. The announcement is not relevant to those who have already bought the game on Steam or another store, but those who have held off will have another way to play through a subscription.

Other games arrive the same day. Valor Mortis, a first-person action game from the creators of Ghostrunner, and survival exploration game Deep Dish Dungeon will also join Xbox Game Pass on their launch day[1].

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is leaving soon

Some games are arriving, while others are leaving. Xbox Wire lists Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and A Plague Tale: Requiem among the games leaving Xbox Game Pass soon[1]. The post does not give a departure date. Xbox Wire advises players to buy them at a discount before they leave the catalog[1].

To try Battlefield 6 through a subscription, check before October 13 that your current plan is Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. If you are playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 through Xbox Game Pass, work out how much you have left before the ending. If you think you will struggle to finish, it is time to consider buying it.
