Solo Leveling:Arise tops 70 million downloads; 2.5-year update raises Sung Jinwoo's level cap to 170
At its October 19 developer livestream, Netmarble reported over 70 million downloads worldwide. Its 2.5-year update adds the Requiem job change and a four-player deep isolation zone, with an event offering hunter and exclusive weapon selection tickets.

Netmarble announced during its October 19 developer livestream that Solo Leveling:Arise had surpassed 70 million cumulative downloads worldwide. The milestone came two and a half years after the game launched in South Korea and globally in 2024[1]. The company also revealed details of its 2.5-year anniversary update during the broadcast. This article is as of October 20, 2026.
Level up as the webtoon's protagonist, Sung Jinwoo
Solo Leveling:Arise is an action RPG developed by Netmarble Neo and published by Netmarble. It is the first game adaptation of Solo Leveling, a webtoon with 14.3 billion cumulative views[1]. Players take the role of protagonist Sung Jinwoo and follow the original story, assembling hunters from the webtoon to enter dungeons called 'gates' and take on raids. The shadow army also comes from the original work: players extract the shadows of defeated monsters and deploy them in battle[2].
The game is available on PC and mobile, and can be downloaded for free from the South Korean App Store. It offers paid products, including a 'Hunter Association premium subscription' costing $9.99 per month[2]. A separate paid edition, Solo Leveling:Arise Overdrive, launched on Steam on November 24, 2025. Its price on the South Korean Steam store is 46,000 KRW[3].
According to Netmarble, the game reached 60 million cumulative users worldwide roughly 10 months after its official launch and won the grand prize at the 2024 Korea Game Awards[1].
The 70 million figure adds up all downloads to date, so it is different from the number of people currently playing. Netmarble did not disclose a separate current player count in this announcement. On October 20, the game did not appear among the App Store's top 200 grossing games in South Korea, Japan, the United States or Taiwan[4].
What the 2.5-year anniversary update adds
The update adds a new story and raises Sung Jinwoo's level cap from 160 to 170. It also introduces the 'Requiem' job change and 'statues' that allow further development of Sung Jinwoo, inheritors and hunters[1].
There are two new combat activities. The 'deep isolation zone' is content that four hunters enter together. In the 'infinite battlefield,' players must defeat as many continuously appearing bosses as possible within the time limit[1]. The new hunter revealed was the water-element Buster 'Go Gunhee, the protective rampart.' The fire-element inheritor 'Velvet, inheritor of the fang' was also revealed[1].
Selection ticket event announced, dates still pending
Netmarble said it will hold an event celebrating 70 million downloads and the 2.5-year anniversary, offering hunter and exclusive weapon selection tickets among other rewards[1]. The press release does not specify the update's release date or the event period. Netmarble Neo producer Jin Seong-geon said future updates would continue to aim for a more comfortable playing experience and a game where players can feel the effects of their progression[1].
The lists of hunters and weapons available through the tickets have not been released either. There is no need to decide what to choose before checking the eligible options in the event announcement.
