Six unreleased games Korean publishers took to Tokyo Game Show 2026

Netmarble, Nexon and NCSOFT brought six unreleased games to a Tokyo Game Show cut short by a typhoon. Netmarble showed three, Nexon had the first playable build of Blue Archive studio's FAREIDOLIA plus Mabinogi Mobile, and NCSOFT's Astrae Oratio drew 30,000 visitors.

Netmarble's Tokyo Game Show 2026 key visual combining characters from Shangri-La Frontier, Pearl in Blue and Solo Leveling: KARMA

This year's Tokyo Game Show was the event's thirtieth. It was scheduled for September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, but the typhoon cancelled the final day and the show closed on the 20th[1]. Three Korean publishers brought new games to the shortened show: three from Netmarble, two from Nexon and one from NCSOFT. None has launched yet, and most were playable in public for the first time. Everything below comes from each company's press releases and official notices, checked on September 27, 2026.

Netmarble: two big adaptations and one original

Netmarble attended TGS for the second year running and grew its booth from 56 units last year to 63[2]. It brought Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi, Solo Leveling: KARMA and Pearl in Blue[2][3].

Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi is the first game adaptation of the hit Shangri-La Frontier series and was playable for the first time; it is a tag-based collectible RPG in which you switch characters mid-fight[2]. Solo Leveling: KARMA is a fast roguelite action game telling an original story in the Solo Leveling universe, and the demo had players fighting through the Dimensional Gap with combinations of weapons and buffs[2]. Pearl in Blue introduces Netmarble's own world and characters and was also playable for the first time[2]. The press release does not give release dates or platforms for any of the three.

Nexon: Blue Archive's studio and Mabinogi Mobile

Nexon showed two games. The first is FAREIDOLIA, a bishoujo game in development at IO DIVISION, the team behind Blue Archive, previously known as Project RX. Built in Unreal Engine 5, it is set in Anima City, in a world much like ours, where you spend time with "Mates" who have special abilities[4]. Nexon billed its booth as the first place in the world to play it, and the release date is undecided[4].

The second is Mabinogi Mobile, already live in Korea, with a Japanese launch planned for 2026. It supports cross-play between phones and PC and leans on life content such as cooking and housing[4].

NCSOFT: a two-hour queue for Astrae Oratio

NCSOFT had a dedicated booth for Astrae Oratio, a subculture RPG set in 1989 Tokyo, shown in playable form for the first time[1]. The booth drew 30,000 visitors, and on September 19, the first public day, the wait reached the organizer's 120-minute cap and the demo line was briefly closed[1]. When the show ended a day early, NCSOFT turned staff workspace into demo stations on the 20th, raising simultaneous seats from 42 to 46, and held the scenario screening on YouTube on the 21st instead[1][5]. The company says a global closed beta comes next, with release planned for next year[1].

All three publishers chose Tokyo as the first place to put these games in players' hands. None of the press releases says when or how they will first be shown in Korea.
