Occupy Mars: The Game is currently featured on the Steam store!

About

Occupy Mars is a cerebral open-world survival sandbox that tasks players with colonizing the Red Planet using realistic technologies. Far from a simple shooter, this is a technical simulation where you must master electrical grids, solder broken circuits, operate heavy machinery, and manage a complex interplay of water, oxygen, and thermal regulation to sustain life in a hostile environment.

Story

You are a lone colonist crash-landed on the unforgiving surface of Mars. Isolated and facing equipment failures, your mission shifts from routine exploration to desperate survival. Driven by the philosophy of making humanity a 'multi-planet species,' you must endure the isolation, brave the elements, and expand a fragile outpost into a thriving, self-sustaining civilization.

Gameplay

The gameplay is defined by its 'hard sci-fi' approach to survival. Instead of magical crafting menus, you engage in tactile repairs using soldering irons and hot air tools. You will drive customizable rovers, operate cranes with hydraulic arms to mine resources, and build intricate base systems where cable management and pipe pressure matter. Survival requires balancing a delicate triangular economy of Power, Water, and Oxygen while navigating a dynamic day/night cycle and weather hazards.

💡 Did You Know?

Explosions in the game are humorously referred to as 'Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly,' a term used by SpaceX.

The game features a completely separate mobile spin-off called 'Colony Builder' focused on city management.

Players must manually use tools like hot air guns and soldering irons to fix broken PCBs inside equipment.

Finding an underground water spring is a critical milestone that allows for self-sustaining wells.

The UI is integrated entirely into a simulated tablet the character holds, rather than a floating HUD.
