About
Captain Hardcore is a unique fusion of deep sandbox simulation and action-adventure gameplay set in the darkest reaches of space. Players command a fully traversable starship, engaging in detailed character customization and scene creation before embarking on dangerous planetary landings and derelict ship explorations. What began as a creative tool has evolved into a fully fledged game featuring procedural levels, combat mechanics, and rescue missions.
Story
As the captain of a high-tech vessel, you navigate the galaxy responding to distress signals and exploring uncharted sectors. Your mission involves rescuing potential crew members held captive on maze-like decks, investigating robotic inhabitants on abandoned ships, and expanding your influence across the stars—all while conducting 'important research' in the privacy of your quarters.
Gameplay
The experience is split into two distinct pillars: the 'Scientific' sandbox and the Action survival mode. In the sandbox, players utilize advanced tools to customize crew bodies, outfits, and pose scenes with total freedom. The action phase shifts to a first-person shooter experience (VR or flatscreen), where players navigate procedurally generated mazes, scavenge for credits and health, and battle AI robots using pistols and tactical movement.
