About

Dead in Antares is an unforgiving turn-based survival RPG where management meets tactical exploration. After a failed mission to save a resource-starved Earth, you must command a fixed crew of ten specialists stranded on the alien world of Antares Prime. Every decision counts as you balance physical needs, mental sanity, and volatile interpersonal relationships in a bid to return home.

Story

Following a botched colonization mission intended to secure resources for a dying Earth, your crew crash-lands on Antares Prime. This is not just a survival story; it is a narrative of leadership under pressure. You must navigate branching storylines, negotiate with alien factions, and uncover the mysteries of diverse biomes—from suffocating jungles to volcanic wastes—while keeping the hope of rescue alive.

Gameplay

The core loop alternates between camp management and tile-based exploration. By day, assign duties to upgrade workstations, gather resources, and manage hunger, fatigue, and depression. By night or during expeditions, engage in tactical turn-based combat utilizing front/back row positioning and 'Power Surge' abilities, all while mitigating the dynamic relationships that can bolster or break your crew's efficiency.

Key Features

  • 1Zero-Tolerance Survival: All 10 crew members are essential; if one dies, the game is over.
  • 2Camp Management: Construct and upgrade workstations using ship wreckage to process food, water, and tech.
  • 3Relationship System: Dynamic chemistry between characters unlocks buffs, debuffs, and unique dialogue.
  • 4Tile-Based Exploration: Scout the planet with skill checks for stealth, biology, and engineering.
  • 5Tactical Combat: Turn-based battles integrated with character moods and 'Power Surge' mechanics.
  • 6RPG Progression: Level up science-oriented skills and attributes to specialize your survivors.
