About

Crown of Greed is a highly anticipated fantasy real-time strategy game that breathes new life into the nearly extinct indirect-management subgenre. As the heir to the throne of Rodovia, you must build a thriving kingdom and defend it against mythological horrors without ever issuing a direct command. By leveraging the power of your treasury to place bounties and bribe free-willed heroes, you'll orchestrate grand strategies in a living world governed entirely by greed.

Story

Set in the dark, gritty realm of Rodovia, your lands are plagued by terrifying creatures from European and Slavic folklore, including vampires, werewolves, basilisks, and the legendary Baba Yaga. As the realm's heir, your mission is to secure your legacy and shield your subjects from utter doom. However, no king can command directly here; you must influence free-willed heroes to fight your battles and survive in this greed-driven world.

Gameplay

Forget traditional micro-management—your primary weapon is the economy. You will construct guilds, marketplaces, and guard towers, while placing bounty flags to incentivize your autonomous heroes to scout, defend, or attack. Heroes have their own traits and vices; they might accept your gold, or they might ignore it if the risk outweighs the reward, forcing you to adapt dynamically and intervene with kingly magic when necessary.

Key Features

  • 1Indirect Management System: Command through influence by using gold bounties and contracts instead of direct orders.
  • 2Autonomous Heroes: Watch heroes make independent decisions, level up, gain unique traits, and visually upgrade their gear.
  • 3Deep City Building: Construct and upgrade castles, rogue guilds, hunting camps, inns, and marketplaces to fuel your economy.
  • 4Living Economy: Collect taxes and loot enemy lairs to fund the rewards that keep your kingdom functioning.
  • 5Kingly Magic Intervention: Build a library to cast powerful direct spells, from fiery destruction to crucial healing.
  • 6Heritage System: Earn persistent points across missions to unlock permanent kingdom-wide upgrades.
  • 7Slavic Folklore Bestiary: Survive attacks from procedurally generated mythological horrors across dynamic biomes.

đź’ˇ Did You Know?

Explicitly designed to be the modern spiritual successor to the 2000 cult-classic 'Majesty'.

Heroes are so greedy and autonomous that they will blatantly ignore your bounties if the gold isn't worth the risk of facing a monster.

Features a deeply authentic Slavic mythological bestiary, pitting your kingdom against drowners, basilisks, and Baba Yaga.

The game embraces moments of true 'helplessness'—creating incredible tension as you watch to see if a hero will take the contract in time to save your town.

The Living Heroes of Rodovia

  • •Holy Warriors: Powerful in combat but suffer from low stamina, requiring frequent rest.
  • •Rogues: Cunning and deadly, but plagued by vices that drain their gold at the local inn.
  • •Visual Evolution: Every piece of gear a hero buys from the blacksmith visibly changes their in-game model.
  • •Independent Lives: When not fighting, heroes will wander the town, drink ale, and recover on their own schedule.

The Economy of War

In Crown of Greed, gold is your only true authority. Every action is funded through a delicate economic loop: tax collectors gather coin from your citizens, which you then use to place bounties on monster lairs. Heroes claim these bounties, but quickly spend their newfound wealth back at your inns and marketplaces, returning the gold to your treasury to start the cycle anew.
